Itineraries

Day 1

Date : March 9, 2025

Arrival + Welcome Dinner

Arrive at Hainan Island. You will be picked-up at the airport and transfer to the Mission Hills Resort - Haikou.

That night, enjoy a Welcome Dinner, where you will meet your fellow travelers, and get prepared for a week of fun.

(Note: Depending on your flight arrangements/city, you can arrange for an earlier arrival date.)

Day 2

Date : March 10, 2025

The Vintage

The Vintage is patterned after the classic courses built at the turn of the century. On one hand, there is a distinct natural feel to the layout with holes carefully routed on existing terrain leaving the heavily wooded site as undisturbed as possible. At the same time, much of the feature work utilizes odd, sometimes geometric shapes and quirky features that are distinctively old. The natural terrain is frequently contrasted by striking, abrupt mounds, deep pots, square edges, ridges, blind shots, long and thin bunkers near both small and huge greens.

Inclusions: Breakfast.

Day 3

Date : March 11, 2025

Meadow Links

Based upon the traditional US Open courses of the eastern United States, this layout features lay-of-the land sensibilities and somewhat geometric shapes in both bunkering and fairway lines. Distinctive features such as the fabled "Church Pew" bunkers make for a unique look where grass-faced bunkers and native grasses give the course an open meadow feel with occasional clusters of trees. Large greens create difficult putting opportunities.

Inclusions: Breakfast

Day 4

Date : March 12, 2025

REST DAY - Optional Golf

Today, you can take this Rest Day to explore the resort, or the city of Haikou, and/or Hainan Island.

Or, if you want even more golf, you can play your choice of Lava Fields, or one of Mission-Hills' challenging 18-hole Par-3 courses like Double Pin or Stepping Stone.

Inclusions: Breakfast.

Day 5

Date : March 13, 2025

Stone Quarry

As a tribute to the many fine courses of Pete Dye, mentor to the Schmidt-Curley team, this course showcases all the wild-ride features associated with his designs. Railroad tie sleepers, abrupt mounds, and moguls, long sandy waste bunkers, devilish sometimes small greens and rail-road car bridges all create a distinct look. These features are proven all the more dramatic as the course snakes through ancient volcanic quarry's supported by steep rock walls and timbers. The dramatic landscape features remnants of days past including coal cars, railroad tracks, and abandoned mining equipment. The course is rather "sporty" in nature, demanding shot making over brute strength and provides a welcoming option to many of today's long courses.

Inclusions: Breakfast

Day 6

Date : March 14, 2025

Blackstone + Presentation Dinner

Voted best championship course in Asia, this spectacular golf course hosted The Match at Mission Hills in 2013 with Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. The course weaves through a striking landscape of mature trees, thick jungle vegetation, and expansive lakes and wetlands. The dominating site characteristic is the bed of lava rock throughout, as well as the wild, irregular bunker edges and transitional sand edges. In addition, there is only a fairway cut (no rough, not even at bunker faces).

That night, enjoy a Closing Presentation Dinner, where you can share your week's golfing highlights with your new-found friends and travellers.

Inclusions: Breakfast and Dinner
